In a Thursday interview, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Americans shouldn’t expect a pre-COVID life until late 2021. He believes that the Covid-19 vaccine will be available at the beginning of 2021.

Fauci Predicts Pandemic Will End in Late 2021

Fauci’s latest comments come in the interview with MSNBC Friday in which he declares, “If you’re talking about getting back to a degree of normality which resembles where we were prior to COVID, it’s going to be toward the middle of 2021, maybe even end of 2021.”

These statements come for those states that are relaxing social distancing, and other safety measures and even opened more theatres, salons, gyms, and indoor dining. Dr. Fauci, who is the director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases stays confident and told that vaccines will be available by the end of 2020 and also said that even if it is accessible that doesn’t mean people can have a quick return to normal life.

When he was speaking with Business Insider, he said to Insider’s Hilary Brueck that “I believe that by the time we get to the end of 2021, if everyone gets vaccinated and we continue to implement the public-health measures that I have been talking about incessantly over the last several months — they’re not universally adhered to — if we do that, plus the vaccine, we’ll get to the point where the level of the virus will be so low, and maybe even, you know, close to absent.”

Dr. Fauci mentioned to host Andrea Mitchell, “But by the time you mobilize the distribution of the vaccine and get a majority or more of the population vaccinated and protected, that’s likely not going to happen until the end of 2021.”

Fauci also expressed worry about the United States reopening certain indoor activities that may increase the risk of contracting COVID-19.

He says that “I am concerned when I see things starting indoors, and that becomes more compelling when you move into fall and winter season.”

Earlier this week, as reported by the CDC based on a sampling of Covid-19 patients that found adults who tested positive for coronavirus. They went twice to the restaurant in the past two weeks. Dr. Fauci reminded viewers by alerting that being outside doesn’t mean a person is completely protected from the Covid-19 virus and also encouraged people to wear masks whenever they go out.
