While the US Presidential election campaigns were going on in full swing, Trump on Friday tweeted that he and his wife Melania tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. Reportedly, Hope Hicks, Trump’s advisor who accompanied the POTUS for the campaigns, was recently tested positive for COVID-19. So, there are chances that others in the White House might also have acquired the infection, but, it is still unclear about the status of the positive cases there.

Though both Trump and the First Lady didn’t show any symptoms initially, reports suggest that Trump was admitted at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as there was a slight drop in the oxygen level. His physician at the hospital briefed on Trump’s health on Sunday. He confirmed that the President was doing well though he was provided with supplemental oxygen.  “I really appreciate all of the fans and supporters outside of the hospital. The fact is, they really love our Country and see how we are MAKING IT GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!”, Trump tweeted from the hospital. He had also shared a video from the Medical Center where he thanks the medical faculty who had been incredibly good in what they were doing. Trump also added that he was doing good and that he’ll be back soon to make American great again.

Trump’s Surprise Visit

Later that day, Trump had tweeted that he had a surprise for all the patriots waiting outside the hospital. The POTUS briefly left the hospital in a car and waved his supporters before returning to the Medical Center. Meanwhile, opponent Joe Bidden wished Trump and Melania a speedy recovery through one of his tweets. “Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the President and his family”, he tweeted. Biden also added that both he and his wife had tested negative for COVID-19 and that wearing a mask, keeping social distance, and washing hands are extremely important to stay safe during the crisis.

Currently, all of Trump’s appointments have been canceled as he continues to be under treatment at the hospital. As of now, there is no news regarding when he might resume his election campaign.
