China is praised for controlling the COVID-19 spread within the country. Now, Covid-19 is spreading again in Wuhan city, China. Authorities have been quickly launching comprehensive nucleic acid to all residents, said senior city official Li Tao in a press interview on Tuesday. It’s been more than a year, Wuhan reported the first local infections. Hence, authorities in Wuhan decided to test the entire population for COVID-19. Some positive COVID-19 cases were reported in the city recently.

China Begins the Massive Testing for COVID-19

At present, China is undergoing the biggest outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 in months, with around 300 new cases. 15 provinces in the country have been affected that led the authorities to take necessary measures and lockdown restrictions. They anticipated the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant occurred during the domestic tourism season. The country reported 90 new cases in Wuhan on Tuesday. According to the National Health Commission, 61 newly reported cases were locally transmitted, compared to 55 local cases from the past. China successfully stopped the virus transmission within its borders last year. However, new cases were found among workers at a busy airport in Nanjing. Authorities tested the residents of Nanjing thrice and implemented a lockdown in the city.

Over the weekend, new cases have emerged in the popular tourist spot Zhangjiajie in Hunan. Travelers from Nanjing might have visited the city recently. Health officials are trying to track among 5,000 people who visited theatre performances and those who traveled back to their home cities. China’s leading respiratory disease expert told reporters, Zhangjjajie became the new ground city for China’s COVID-19 spread this year.

Meanwhile, Beijing has ceased tourism, and travelers are not permitted to enter the capital during the peak summer season. They urged residents not to leave their homes unless it is necessary. New cases were also detected in the capital Beijing, the city has been reporting many locally transmitted cases. Chinese corporations haven’t shared data on how efficient their vaccines are against the delta variant. But some officials stated that vaccines can prevent severe disease and hospitalization. As of 3rd August 2021, 1.71 billion vaccine doses were given to people from China, with a 1.4 billion population. 40 percent of the population is fully protected against COVID-19. In addition to the 71 cases, 25 travelers from overseas tested positive for COVID-19, making it 99 new cases. According to the National Health Commission, 15 people were infected with COVID-19 but have no symptoms. China has reported 93,289 cases of Coronavirus and 4,636 deaths overall. Most cases were from Wuhan, which increased last year.
