Keto Diet Good or Bad?

Celebrity trainer Jillian Micheals recently has spoken against the ketogenic diet.  She points out that a balanced diet is a key for good health and why would anyone bat for an imbalanced and harmful ratio of fat in your diet. While she seems to have a point, a lot of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Halle Berry sing praise about keto diet. According to diet experts, as long as you don’t overeat meat and animal fats there is no cause for concern.

Keto diet is basically a high-fat low carb ratio in the food intake.   It’s one of the most popular methods in shedding excess weight and improve health. Researchers have found out that it can promote fat loss and can even improve certain conditions like type2 diabetes. You should follow this diet only under a health trainer’s supervision.  Else you can develop complications.  When you are on keto diet your typical intake will be high fat (75%), low carb (5%)and moderate protein(20%)

Keto-Friendly Foods to Eat:

Egg, Poultry, Fatty Fish, Meat, Poultry, Dairy, Nuts&Seeds, Edible Oils, Avocados, Non-starchy Vegetables.

Foods to Avoid:

Bread&Baked Food, Sweets&Sugary Food, Pasta, Grains, Chick Pea, Kidney Beans, Black Beans, Starchy Vegetables, Grapes, Banana, Pineapple, Citrus Fruits, Sugar & Beer.

The carb reduction forces your body to rely on fats for its main energy source instead of carb — a process known as ketosis. Ketone molecules are produced in the liver from the fats and a low ratio of glucose from the carb and used as a fuel source. Also, a small quantity of fat rich food can make you feel full compared to high volume carb diet which particularly makes it a weight loss diet. Research shows that this method is more effective than low-fat diets when it comes to weight reduction.
