In 2020, more than 530,000 Americans were killed, many lost their jobs, and the country’s economy had a dramatic downturn. Joe Biden calls the past year “a collective suffering, a collective sacrifice.”
In his first prime-time address to the nation, President Joe Biden announced that he will order authorities to make all adults age 18 and above eligible for the vaccination by May 1.
Let’s discuss the speech of President Joe Biden.
“I need you, The American people,” “I need you. I need every American to do their part.”, Bidden added.
Presidential historian and Rice University professor Douglas Brinkley said that “He’s got to win over hearts and minds for people stay masked and get vaccinated, but also recognize that after the last year, the federal government hasn’t forgotten you.”
Biden also tacitly criticized Trump for not displaying severe alarm about the upcoming catastrophe, leading to thousands of people’s death. He referred to it as “denials for days, weeks, then months that led to more deaths, more infections, more stress, and more loneliness.”
He also explicitly spoke about the struggles faced by Asian Americans who have been attacked and harassed during the pandemic.
Biden explained about those who received the vaccines.
Biden is now all set for the nationwide tour next week to tout his first major legislative accomplishment.
