5 Natural remedies for cuts and scrapes

  • Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil has anti-bacterial properties that can help in healing a wound. Tea tree oil can cut down any inflammation and can also heal infected wounds better as compared to antibiotics.

  • Honey

Honey has been mentioned in all the religious scriptures to have healing properties for various ailments. People have been using honey to heal their cuts and wounds since the beginning of civilization.

Honey has amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that enable it to kill bacteria and fungi that infect wounds. Do not use honey that is meant for cooking purposes. Instead use the medicinal pure honey that will work like magic.

 

  • Peppermint Oil and Cinnamon

Scientists have found that both peppermint oil and cinnamon make a great bacteria busting team. They can heals cuts in a jiffy and even those that are anti-biotic resistant.

  • Lavender Oil

Lavender oil not only heals the skin but it also prevents any other infections from settling in. Researchers have proved this by having it experimented on wounds that arise from childbirth and found that they felt no pain and the wound healed faster.

  • Chamomile

This flower has magical properties to heal bruises, burns, hemorrhoids and other injuries. The flower healing properties come from the flavonoids present in it that can penetrate into the skin. You could either take a soak in a tub filled with chamomile flowers or you could just slather on chamomile oil.
