Why You Should Be Worried about Your Body Odor!

Well, everyone has their own smell. So, body odor is nothing to be worried about when it is at its minimum. But, things have to be taken a bit more seriously when it bothers others or maybe your own self. It could sometimes be an outcome of an underlying disease you’re possibly ignoring to notice.

What Causes Body Odor?

Many of us are under the misconception that sweat causes body odor. But, in reality, sweat doesn’t really have a smell and it is the bacteria that create this situation. Sweat is generally released by two glands namely the Eccrine and Apocrine glands and bacteria thrive on these moist places releasing an odor that can make you nauseate. While it is absolutely natural to have a body odor, you should pay more attention when the smell becomes unbearable for you and others around you.

Reasons for Extreme Body Odor

Smelly armpits and stinky feet could be due to any of the following reasons you are failing to observe.

1. Fever

Yellow fever, typhoid, or even your regular viral fever can give out an odor indicating that you are sick.

2.  Magnesium deficiency

An unhealthy diet, alcohol, and consuming processed food can lead to this condition. With a loss of magnesium levels in your blood, the body odor becomes unusually smelly. Magnesium deficiencies not only cause bad body odor but can lead to medical conditions like cramps and seizures. Also, check out the importance of magnesium for health and well-being.

3. Trimethylaminuria

Fish odor in the urine, sweat, or any other excretion might be due to a condition called trimethylaminuria where the body is unable to break the chemical compound trimethylamine. This releases a pungent odor giving a sense of discomfort and restlessness as people around you might start feeling uneasy, thus isolating you.

Ways to Overcome Body Odor

Proper eating habits, bathing twice a day, hygienic lifestyle, and regular usage of deodorants can help you overcome body odor. Also, explore the most natural ways to get rid of body odor. But, when the condition becomes extreme, it is wise that you consult a doctor as soon as possible to help clear possibilities of any underlying disease.
