8 Must-haves in your First Aid Kit

First aid kits are a must-have in every household, office, car or any other place you can imagine. You must always keep one handy in emergency cases. A kit with the right supplies will help you wade through the unpleasantness and even help you save a limb at times.

You can go out and buy a kit that comes with all the essentials already in the kit or you can assemble your own with the following items:

  • Band-Aid or adhesive bandages

You can never have too many bandages. All those nicks and scrapes that your kids get after playing in the playground are treated with these simple strips called Band-Aid. Just make sure you clean the area properly before you attach a Band-Aid.

  • Antiseptic ointment

If you want to clean a wound without getting any water in it and also make sure that the area is sterile before attaching the bandage, then apply some antiseptic ointment to the area.

  • Bandages

These come in rolls and in different widths. These bandages are used to support a muscle or apply pressure to an area.

  • Doxiciclina 100 mg

Doxiciclina 100 mg is used to treat bacterial infections. These can include some sexually transmitted diseases, skin infections, eye infections, respiratory infections, and more.

  • Scissors

A pair of scissors is always handy, especially when they can be used for cutting bandages and gauze strips to the right measurements of the wound.

  • Gauze strips

If the victim is suffering from larger wounds, wrap in gauze strips before using the regular bandages.

  • Pain killer or aspirin

If your victim is in pain then a pain killer or aspirin will help alleviate the pain.

  • Gloves

Gloves are very important when dealing with wounds and injuries. Be sure to wear gloves on your hands when dealing with wounds, especially if the bleeding is profuse so that you do not give room for spreading an infection.

  • Tweezers

These come in handy when the emergency involves the removal of splinters or thorns.

So keep your first-aid kit fully stocked so that you can treat anyone at the time of emergencies till the time you reach the doctor.
