You will easily find this inexpensive product in your drugstore. Most of us have overlooked this product that is a combination of two minerals – magnesium and sulfate. Epsom salts has a lot of health and beauty benefits that is not known to many of us.

Here are 6 ways that you can use Epsom salts to your benefit :

1. Exfoliator

A lot of people use Epsom salts as an exfoliator which provides mild abrasion that eventually gets dissolved in the bath water.


2. Hair Volumizer

Epsom salt can help you get rid of the gunk in your hair and scalp. It will clear out the dead skin and dirt, giving your hair more volume.
Mix equal quantities of conditioner and Epsom salts and apply onto your hair and scalp. Let it sit for 15minutes. Wash off as usual.

3. Improved bone health

Magnesium that is present in Epsom salts is good for bone health. Fill your tub with water and add some Epsom salt and allow the magnesium to get soaked in through your skin.

4. Relaxes the mind

Epsom salt helps to lower cortisol, the stress hormone. So simply switch off all your electronic devices, turn on some soothing music and get into a tub filled with warm water and Epsom salts for a soak to relax yourself.

5. Soothe sore muscles

Epsom helps in draining out the toxins and also helps in reducing inflammation. So if you have sprained ankle or want to reduce soreness caused in pregnancy soak the affected area in Epsom salts and you will feel much better.

6. Reduces bloating

This is a great way to temporarily reduce bloating and water weight. This salt draws out all the toxins and water retention out of your system. If you want to fit into a dress that is hard to pull on, soak in a tub of Epsom salts and watch the magic. The measurement is half a cup of salts for every 20 kg approximately.
