5 Yoga Poses you can do at your Desk

Yoga is an activity most of us take up to relax our body and mind. Of course there are some forms of yoga that help in weight loss too. Different postures of yoga target different areas of your body.

If your body and mind is relaxed then it results in increased productivity at work. So your boss shouldn’t have any reason to object to you doing a few poses of yoga, as long as he gets his work done properly.

  • Seated Twists

Sit on edge of the chair with your back straight. Twist to the left side. You can deepen this twist by placing your left hand on the back of the chair. Hold the twist for a few moments and repeat the pose on the right side as well. This pose will help you get rid of those love handles on your waist.

  • Pigeon pose

Sit at the edge of your seat. Keep your back straight. Place your left foot on your right knee till you feel the stretch. If you don’t feel anything then you can lean forward till you feel the stretch in your glutes.

  • Cow face arms

Take one hand behind the head and the other behind your back. Clasp the hands together and hold for a few minutes with the stretch. Repeat the stretch with the alternate hands.

  • High alter pose

Sit on your chair with your back straight. Raise your arms up high and clasp together. Turn the palms in such a way that they face the ceiling. Lean towards the left side and hold the stretch for a few seconds. Repeat on the right side.

  • Scale pose

Sit on the edge of your chair. Press your hands on the sides of the chair and lift your butt out of the chair along with raising your legs. Hold for 2-3 breaths. Lower yourself and repeat again.

So don’t sit all sluggish at your desk all day. Try these poses to improve your posture at work and also giving you a happy stress free body at work.
