4 TYPES TO TOXIC COOKWARES TO AVOID

TEFLON COOKWARE

Teflon is the biggest offender on this list. Many people choose this non-stick cookware because it is convenient and ubiquitous but this cookware is one of the most dangerous. This non-stick property of Teflon Cookware is achieved with the coating of PTFE known as polytetrafluoroethylene which tends to leach toxins if heated above 572 degrees Fahrenheit.

This toxin is not only dangerous to people, but they are also fatal to pet birds like parrots. Another chemical compound found in Teflon cookware is PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) which causes cancer like breast, prostate, and ovarian cancer.

ALUMINIUM COOKWARE AND FOIL

It is no surprise that the use of aluminum is so widespread everywhere but besides being the most abundant metal it is a very strong, versatile, lightweight, and recyclable. Aluminum is a neurotoxin metal.

Elevated aluminum levels have been connected to several central nervous system diseases like ALS and Alzheimer’s. Though aluminum cookware is coated, the coating is prone to chipping that releases the toxic metal into your food.

COPPER COOKWARE

Copper cookware is available in all stores and is noticed how pretty it is. It has conductive properties which enable for quick and even heating. But copper is dangerous when used in cookware. Like other heavy metals, copper is very important for human health in small quantities.

But an excess amount of it in the body can lead to dangerous metal poisoning. When copper cookware is not coated, it can release copper while cooking acidic foods. When it is coated, the coating contains nickel, which is another toxic element.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS

Avoid these toxic utensils in order to have a toxin and cancer free life. There are so many utensils you can replace instead of these utensils.
