According to resources, the FDA approved the use of ivermectin tablets to treat people with intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis as these two conditions are caused by parasitic worms. ivermectin can also be used to treat external parasites like head lice and skin diseases like rosacea. When it comes to animals, ivermectin has been used to prevent heartworm diseases and other internal and external parasites in them. 

So it is important to note that the effect of ivermectin differs from person to animal. ivermectin is safe for animals whereas in humans it is not.

Why Is Ivermectin Unsafe for Humans?

The very first point is, ivermectin is not for humans, so when you take ivermectin without consulting your doctor, it might cause various side effects and can also cause serious harm. 

Recently, there has been a lot of misinformation about ivermectin that intake of ivermectin can prevent you from COVID-19, but it is wrong. The FDA has not supported the use of Ivermectin in COVID patients. 

The overdose of ivermectin can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hypotension (low blood pressure), allergic reactions, dizziness, ataxia (problems with balance), seizures, coma, and even death.

Why FDA Warns the Usage of Ivermectin Drug for COVID?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns against the usage of ivermectin because the FDA has not reviewed the data that supports the use of ivermectin in COVID-19 patients. And the research is still underway. Taking ivermectin without the doctor’s prescription can be very dangerous.
