Remove Dental Plaque At Home Naturally

Plaque is the sticky, colorless film of bacteria that forms on teeth. It makes teeth “feel fluffy” to the tongue and is most recognizable when teeth are not brushed.

When you eat, the bacteria in plaque use the sugars in your food to produce acids that eat away at the tooth enamel. Repeated attacks cause the enamel to break down, eventually resulting in a cavity in the tooth surface. Plaque that is not removed can also irritate the gums around your teeth, leading to gingivitis.

Brushing, flossing, or using mouthwash is a crucial part of oral hygiene.  It helps remove plaque, reaching and combating the bacteria that couldn’t be otherwise reached with brushing. At the same time, it leaves the mouth thoroughly cleaned and the breath freshener.

You can make an effective homemade treatment for the plaque with simple ingredients. These ingredients help you regain healthy and pearly teeth.  You have multiple benefits of using this homemade treatment, as it is cheap and chemical-free. Also, you have control over the ingredients that you are going to use. These ingredients are chemical-free and also in-expensive.

The key ingredient for this remedy is baking soda, which is considered to be one of the best and most powerful cleaners which can be used in many different ways and for various purposes, including maintaining proper oral hygiene

The ingredients required are as follows:

  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • ½ cup hydrogen peroxide
  • ½ cup of warm water
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • Toothpicks
  • A toothbrush

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1

Mix the baking soda with salt and add some warm water until you have a paste not too watery or solid. Now, soak the toothbrush in warm water and brush your teeth like normal then rinse your mouth completely with warm water.

STEP 2

Mix the 3% hydrogen peroxide with warm water that’s about a 50/50 mixture to create a mouthwash. Swish solution in the mouth for a minute and then spit.

STEP 3

Use a toothpick or floss to get rid of the tartar between the teeth and then rinse with cold water

This solution contains potent stain removal and bleaching properties, which is the reason why many people use it for teeth brushing.  It also contains antibacterial properties, which help remove microbes and tartar that are often the underlying cause of cavities and bad breath.
