One of the common problem faced by people in their daily basis….Diarrhea. Usually, a bout of diarrhea lasts for only some days but those times used to be the worst moment. When we go to the doctor they used to ask many questions such as do you have the fever? Do you have belly pain? How long do you’ve? Goes on doctor queries before treating your disorder. But you must know that diarrhea happens often in your body due to some disturbances in the gastrointestinal system. It might be caused by the virus or food poisoning or bacterial infection or recent antibiotic usage.

Now here are some effective ways to control acute diarrhea.

1. STAY HYDRATED: Young children to old adults it is important to be hydrated because, during diarrhea, you will lose the water content from your body. So remain hydrated by drinking more water (2-3 liters per day) or fresh fruit juice.

What to avoid: Must avoid drinks like alcohol, milk, soda, caffeine or other carbonated drinks because they aren’t used for hydration but will only worsen the situation.

2. FOODS TO EAT: Diarrhea will usually go away in a few days without treatment but until that taking enough fluids, enough rest and eating proper foods will be a fast relief. Try eating a bland diet that includes bananas, rice, toast, skinless chicken, yogurt, peanut butter and applesauce that are also known as the BRAT diet. For children instead of banana, can take crackers and mashed potatoes as an alternative food.

What to avoid: Foods like beans, cabbage, milk, caffeine, ice cream, raw fruits n’ veggies, fried n’ spicy foods should be avoided during this time because they worsen the situation causing gas issues.
