What Causes Dark Circles Under Eyes?

Dark Circles under Eyes

Dark circles under eyes are a common concern among women and men. They will make you look older than you are and can make you look lifeless too.

The skin under our eyes gives a clean picture of our age. This delicate layer deserves special treatment to battle the wrinkles, bags, and dark circles. From applying the correct sunscreen lotion to removing eye makeup properly, there are several practices that can help.

Sometimes we won’t be able to get a proper good night’s sleep because of stress, work and late-night partying. This can also be a reason for the appearance of dark circles under  eyes

1. Age

As you age dark circles will naturally appear around your eyes. It’s because the skin under the eyes gets thinner and starts to lose collagen. As this happens, the dark blood vessels under your eyes become more visible, causing the area to darken.

2. Eye Strain

Eye Strain

Staring at your smartphone, television or computer screen leads to eye strain. This can cause blood vessels around your eyes to enlarge as a result of which, the skin surrounding your eyes can get dark.

Reduce hours of staring at the system screen and get more sleep to get rid of dark circles.

3. Overexposure to Sun

Overexposure to Sun

Protect the eyes from the sun. Overexposure to the sun will cause your body to produce an excess of melanin and causes dark circles. Wear a sunglass which covers the whole area around the eyes to prevent dark circles.

4. Dehydration

Dehydration is a common cause of dark circles under eyes. When your body is not receiving the required amount of water, the skin beneath your eyes begins to look dull and your eyes can have a sunken appearance.

5. Quit Smoking and Drinking

Overconsumption of alcohol and excessive smoking can speed up the aging process and make you look lifeless. This increases the risk of dark circles.
